PORTLAND, Ore. - Dwyane Wade and Jason Williams combined for 51 points to lead the Miami Heat over the Portland Trail Blazers 118-89 on Sunday night.

Wade had 31 points and seven assists, while Williams had 20 points and eight assists and Miami shot 58.8 percent (47-of-80) from the field. The pair sat out the Heat's 111-93 loss at Phoenix on Friday night with injuries. Wade had a bruised left shin, while Williams suffered from right knee tendinitis.

Both were back against the Blazers, who have lost six straight games, and each scored 16 points in the first half as the Heat built a 64-51 lead at the break.

It was the Heat's first win on a seven-game road trip. They had dropped the first two games.

The Blazers, who were opening an eight-game homestand, saw the return of forward Zach Randolph, who missed Friday's 90-80 loss to the Hornets in Oklahoma City with a sinus infection.

Portland also saw the return of point guard Sebastian Telfair, who has missed 12 games with a ligament strain in his right thumb. Telfair, a starter until he was injured, did not start Sunday. He finished with three points in 23 minutes.

Ruben Patterson led the Blazers with 16 points. Randolph added 14 points.

The Heat took a 50-35 lead, their biggest advantage of the first half, on Wayne Simien's 17-foot-jumper in the second quarter. Miami shot 61.9 percent (26-of-42) from the floor in the half and made six of 10 3-pointers.

The Heat built on the lead, going up 70-53 on Wade's fast-break dunk before making it 77-57 on James Posey's 3-pointer. Miami led by as many as 32.

Nets extend win streak to 10 games

TORONTO (Reuters) - Vince Carter scored 42 points, including a game winning three-pointer with less than a second to play, lifting the New Jersey Nets to a 105-104 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.

The contest was a showdown between two of the NBA's hottest teams and the win extended the Nets' winning streak to 10 games.
