文化軟實力  soft power of Chinese culture

相較于中共往屆黨代會的政治報告，此次十七大報告用了相當的篇幅論述文化。“文化軟實力”、“文化創造活力” 等新名詞頻頻閃現。中央黨校教授戴焰軍認為把文化軟實力的概念寫進黨代會的報告，說明執政黨在推進社會發展中越來越重視文化的作用。

Hu Jintao stressed the need to enhance Chinese culture as the country's "soft power" in his keynote speech to the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

"Culture has become a more and more important source of national cohesion and creativity and a factor of growing significance in the competition in overall national strength," Hu said.

We must "enhance culture as part of the soft power of our country to better guarantee the people's basic cultural rights and interests," he said.

胡錦濤同志在十七大報告中強調，文化越來越成為民族凝聚力和創造力的重要源泉、越來越成為綜合國力競爭的重要因素，必須提高國家文化軟實力，使人民基本文化權益得到更好保障。

“soft power of Chinese culture” 即“文化軟實力”；提高文化軟實力為“to enhance soft power of Chinese culture”。
