江澤民：讓美國(guó)人很吃驚

1995年10月21日至25日，時(shí)任中國(guó)國(guó)家主席的江澤民赴紐約出席聯(lián)合國(guó)成立50年特別紀(jì)念會(huì)議，發(fā)表了題為《讓我們共同締造一個(gè)更美好的世界》的講話(huà)，這是中國(guó)國(guó)家元首首次參加聯(lián)合國(guó)大會(huì)并發(fā)表講話(huà)。

The world is diverse and colorful. The Chinese people love peace and stand firm in maintaining world peace and stability. China will never seek hegemony. This is a solemn commitment undertaken by the Chinese people to the world.

我深信，世界局勢(shì)的演變和人類(lèi)社會(huì)的發(fā)展，不管還會(huì)經(jīng)歷多少艱難曲折，終將走向更高的文明和更全面的進(jìn)步。
I am convinced that in spite of difficulties and twists and turns that might occur in the course of evolution of the world situation and the development of the human society, the world of ours will eventually attain a civilization of a higher level and make progress in all areas.
