In recent years, Dehui city -- administered by Changchun, capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province -- has successfully carried out its rural revitalization and its villages have become places where farmers live and work profitably and in equilibrium.

In Chalukou town in Dehui, new businesses in the rice industry are booming, and 36 rice production and marketing enterprises have been cultivated in the town.

The whole industry chain of the rice industry has become closely integrated and the "one-stop" industrial closed-loop that combines production, processing and sales has basically been completed.

Meanwhile, new industries such as e-commerce are developing rapidly.

In recent years, Dehui city has leveraged its leading enterprises as the engine for promoting development. It has also greatly promoted the development of modern agriculture by cultivating leading enterprises, building bases, engaging in processing, creating brand products and promoting marketing.

In 2019, sales of the agricultural products processing industry in Dehui city hit 32.5 billion yuan ($4.85 billion).

The sector's success has lifted the majority of farmers out of poverty and increased their incomes. It has also effectively promoted the rapid development of rural revitalization and provided impetus for Dehui's transformation from merely a large agricultural city to a strong and dynamic agricultural city.

In Yongsheng village, various types of vocational skills training and scientific and technological training have been held, which have greatly improved the villagers' workplace aptitudes.

More than 700 newly skilled farmers have been trained, which has directly increased the annual incomes of villagers by more than 5 million yuan per year.

Meanwhile, the village has also established a talent database, which has documented groups of skilled workers, so they can be assigned to various industries.

In recent years, with the beautiful and livable village program as its guide, Dehui has consistently promoted the enhancement of its rural environment, promoted the rural way of life and created an atmosphere of rural harmony.

At present, 297 villages administered by Dehui have established their own rules and regulations, laying a solid foundation for promoting their self-management.

To date, 28,100 rural toilets have been transformed and upgraded in the city and the proportion of environmentally friendly treated domestic garbage in villages has reached 100 percent.

Sewage treatment facilities now fully cover all towns and villages. The resource utilization rate of livestock and poultry manure has reached 93.8 percent and the comprehensive utilization rate of straw has reached 83.3 percent.

Furthermore, 15 provincial beautiful villages have been built and two provincial demonstration villages have received 3A-level ratings.

In the process of all this improvement, the quality of life for residents has improved in rural areas and the sense of wellbeing of farmers has been significantly enhanced.
