    Integrated Space Development Trend of the Yangtze River Delta through the Big Data Collected by the Satellite Remote Sensing Technology and Corresponding Governance Measures (No.192, 2019)

    Abstract: Using the satellite remote sensing technology and its big data on the built-up areas of 115 urban centers and counties (district, cities) in 2014 and 2018, this paper analyzes the spatial development trend of the Yangtze river delta region and finds out that the overall space pattern shows an obvious expanding trend in the spatial agglomeration of central cities, metropolitan circles and major transportation routes; the space of “three provinces and one metropolis” presents a pattern of gradient variation, and the general expansion and some local contraction coexist; the space expansion of the adjacent areas between provinces is fast, and the coordination between Shanghai and the surrounding areas is strong; regional space, population and economic development are generally coordinated, while some regions face the risk of “hollow-out”. In order to promote the high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze river delta region, we need to improve the management mechanism of the spatial collaboration, speed up the development of city circles and adjacent regions between provinces, facilitate coordination and linkage between regional space, population and industry, establish a regional satellite remote sensing big data space monitoring and management system, so as to modernize the space governance system and management capabilities of the Yangtze river delta region.
