Zhanjiang Airport's winter flight schedule has seen a remarkable increase in the number of flights compared to last year, Zhanjiang Daily reported.

The 2016/2017 winter-spring flight schedule, released by China's Civil Aviation, came into effect on Oct 30 and will run until March 25 next year.

Routes connecting Zhanjiang with North China's Dalian and Southwest China's Guiyang are among the new additions to the winter-spring season schedule.

One of the new routes, flight number MU2765/6, which connects Dalian, Wuhan and Zhanjiang, will be?operated by China Eastern Airline and is scheduled to fly once a day.

The flight leaves Dalian at 13:55, arriving in Wuhan at 16:20 and takes off one hour later at 17:20 to reach Zhanjiang at 19:35. The return flight departs Zhanjiang at 20:20, reaching Wuhan at 22:30 and landing in Dalian at 01:50 the following day.

Another round-trip by China Express Air, with its flight No G52679/80, is scheduled to fly every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

The Guiyang-Zhuhai-Zhanjiang flight leaves Guiyang at 16:20, reaching Zhanjiang at 17:55 and takes off 40 minutes later to reach Zhuhai at 19:20. The return flight departs Zhuhai at 20:00, reaching Zhanjiang at 20:45 and touches down in Guiyang at 22:55.

After analyzing travel patterns during the seven-day Golden Week holiday in October, Zhanjiang Airport added more routes to meet customer demands and connect major cities of Shanghai, Chengdu, Wuhan, Kunming, Hangzhou, Guiyang, Zhengzhou and Jieyang.

The airport will also open a new flight connecting Nanchang and Nanning from Nov 1. It will be operated by Guangxi Beibu Gulf Airlines every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Zhanjiang Airport now operates more than 400 flights each week and approximately 60 flights per day, accounting for an annual increase of 45 percent.

A number of routes will be rescheduled to increase the frequency of flights, according to the airport. Passengers are advised to check the updated information about their flights after Oct 30.
