Consider the following: How many wild Siberian tigers are there in China? And, what do they eat and can they survive? Also, do the Changbaishan Mountains still have wild boars? And, what good are these questions?

Well, these are just some of President Xi Jinping’s queries for delegates from Jilin province in China’s Northeast, during a discussion on environmental protection at the 12th National People's Congress in Beijing, on March 9.

Truth is, Jilin has had the ecology and environmental protection on its mind for years, and it has been a priority and now, after years of work, the province has become an ideal place for some endangered animals, and there are frequent sightings of wild panthers and the Siberian Tiger.
