Anting Culture and Sports Activity Center has been upgraded and opened new facilities to the public.
The original open-air basketball court was upgraded into a Rucker Park, which is a national fitness chain based in Shanghai, and gets it name from the famous outdoor basketball court that was officially named Rucker Park in 1974 in Harlem, New York, the United States.
A resident surnamed Yu took her three-year-old son to the new basketball court to play basketball. "The upgraded basketball court is big, ventilated and has a roof," Yu said.
On the other side of the activity center is a brand-new gym with fitness equipment.
"I come to work out in this gym three or four times a week. The fitness equipment here meets my daily training requirements, said a resident surnamed Zhu.
As a comprehensive venue, Anting Culture and Sports Activity Center is expected to have a bigger influence in making exercise more attractive. Thus, more upgrading projects will be carried out in the activity center, such as opening a swimming venue and a small football court.
"We will build more compound venues to offer diverse sports facilities to meet various fitness needs," said Chen Xiang, manager of the operation entity of Rucker Park.
