    Hot wheels on track

    The 2017 Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix will take place on April 7 at Shanghai International Circuit as the pinnacle of racing technology hurtles around 5.5 kilometers of China's finest track at breakneck speeds. Race organizers are promising lower-priced tickets and greater pit-lane access. Located just outside of the city in Anting, the circuit is 5.451 km long with 56 laps; racers will travel a total distance of 305.066 km. The racetrack was designed in the shape of the character shang of Shanghai. The current track record is 1:32.238 minutes, held by Michael Schumacher.

    Photos showcase women

    The Cervantes Institute in Beijing is holding a photo exhibition titled Similar until the end of March. Four male photographers with Spanish cultural background who live in China showcase their own perspectives about the images of women and their similarity. The institute will also play three documentaries about the lives of Spanish women at 4 pm on Saturdays this month.

    Show highlights electronics

    Productronica China 2017 is an international trade show that covers the whole value chain for the electronics production industry. It will take place from March 14 to 16 at Shanghai New International Expo Center. Last year, Productronica China 2016 attracted 61,455 trade visitors, a 11 percent increase over the previous show, as well as 1,088 exhibitors from 23 countries.

    Peacock ballet coming to Hangzhou stage

    Yang Liping Ballet's Peacock of Winter will be presented at Hangzhou Theater from April 13 to 15. The dance drama Peacock is created and directed by famous Chinese choreographer and dancer Yang Liping. Since the debut of the drama in 2012, Peacock has been staged for hundreds of times at home and abroad. The peacock in the drama is not only a bird, but also a person and a member of sentient beings. The Peacock is in four parts - Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter - to symbolize life's journey in a story about growth, human nature and love. The characters in the drama embody the different levels of human nature, brightness and awareness, love and devotion, obsession and being lost, and fear and vanity. The story of the peacock is about human nature, and it also a parable of life.
