A letter to the youth in Siming

As the light of dawn brightens up the sky and breaks up the mists of the night, we are in Xiamen's Siming district, where the temperature is currently a frigid 10 C. Although this is the coldest day of the winter season so far, our hearts are keeping us warm.

The greatness of dreams is that they can come true. Chinese writer and poet?Lu?Xun once said, "Originally there was no path in this world, but after many who have walked upon it, a path came into being."

We'd like to come to a place full of passion and hope, and Siming is the perfect choice. Currently, the district is enhancing its efforts to build a "Young Siming" for the youth. Dubbed "the city in the sky," Siming has thriving industries, a booming economy, dynamic communities, and a modern appearance. It is in this ideal city that we can make our dreams come true.

Dear youths of Siming, the word "young" is not merely an indication of age – but also how youthful we are in terms of mind, body, spirit and dreams.

This city is open and inclusive. It will give us opportunities to strive for freedom under these frosty skies.
