    Italian pianist Marco Grieco will give a recital. The award-winning musician has been praised by the media as "one of the most interesting performers that Italian music has generated in the last years young and established talent in the survey of Italian classical music".

    Tradition mission

    Fine handicrafts and traditional art from China, Japan and South Korea are on show. Highlights among the exhibits from China are embroidery by Gu Wenxia, silk-weaving by Wang Jinshan and ink stones carved by Li Keng. Japanese masters of Kyoto ceramics, seal-making and kabuki costume design are invited, along with South Korean representatives.

    Operatic operation

    Mi Ya is staging an exhibition of oil paintings. Her contemporary works are inspired by Peking Opera. Mi's portraits of women in Peking Opera costumes feature mouths on blank faces with vibrant colors.

    Mixed-media paintings

    In On the Horizon, a solo exhibition from Li Wei, the artist examines her artistic practice and engagement based on traditional Chinese culture and painting. This is the first solo exhibition of the artist in Shanghai, featuring a stunning selection of new mixed-media paintings.

    Mello cello

    Chinese cellist Zhang Bo will open a concert with Bach's Concerto In C Minor for Cello And Orchestra. Zhang, who started learning cello at age 6, joined the National Symphony Orchestra in 2000 and was invited by German composer Robert Zollitsch to perform in Germany and Holland. He returned to China in 2012, after studying as a visiting scholar at the US University of Cincinnati starting in 2010. His upcoming performance will be accompanied by the National Symphony Orchestra's chamber music orchestra.

    Climate change on show

    The group exhibition Unfold addresses climate change through art. The show features works by 25 international artists who undertook one of three trips to places affected by climate change organized by the exhibition's presenter, the nonprofit Cape Farewell. Cape Farewell's founder David Buckland believes the show explores the subject in a more emotional and accessible way.

    Cityscapes as dreams

    Singapore native Danielle Tay is fascinated by the environment and how natural and manmade surroundings are constructed, perceived and navigated. Her first Hong Kong solo exhibition, The Important Bits, uses collages on paper backgrounds to investigate the planned and unplanned infrastructure of a city with vibrantly colorful textures. The maze-like path in which the collection is exhibited is a microcosm of cityscapes themselves.

    Portraits of prestige

    Hong Kong photographer Almond Chu has a knack for getting inside the minds of his celebrity subjects. The Urbanites, presented by K11 Art Foundation and sponsored by New World Development, is Chu's solo exhibition, showcasing 19 portraits taken over the past 20 years. Coinciding with a photo book published by MCCM Creations, the exhibition includes Zhang Xiaogang, Johnnie To, Perry So, Gary Chang and Douglas Young depicted through Chu's oeuvre as you have never seen them before.

    Macao

    Jazzing it up

    Opened in 1784, Leal Senado is one of the city's most treasured colonial buildings and part of the architectural collection that makes up the UNESCO-designated historic center of Macao. This June, its courtyard garden hosts a series of free mini concerts, ranging from classical to jazz. There will be four 20-minute performances every Saturday and Sunday. They're organized by the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau.
