    Beijing Concert Hall is throwing together the best of the city's crosstalk shows, magic performances, traditional operas and music. It will present performances of sanxian - a plucked three-string instrument - and xihedagu, a drumming sing-along tongue-twister native to Hebei.

    Commemoration concert

    To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Benjamin Britten's birth, the National Center for Performing Arts is staging a concert that depicts the composer's funeral and death in a Venice suite. The Shanghai Opera House's Zhang Guoyang will conduct the orchestra.

    Past glory

    Beijing Art Museum is showing more than 80 Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907) cultural relics from Shaanxi and Jiangsu provinces and the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. They include dresses, hairpieces, cosmetics, jewelry, decorations and figurines that reconstruct women's lives during that period.

    Shanghai

    Soda pop

    Taiwan pop group Soda Green will soon give its first large-scale outdoor stadium concert. Soda Green is known for leading vocalist and songwriter Wu Tsing-fong's vast vocal range. The lineup hasn't changed since the outfit was founded in 2001 - there's Liu Jia-kai on electric guitar, Huo Jing-yang on acoustic guitar, Gong Yu-chi on keyboard, Hsieh Hsin-Yi on bass and Shih Chun-wei on drums.

    Girl power

    Women Empowering Women is a dialogue series chaired by Shero consultancy founder Christine Liu. The dialogue gathers successful professional women to talk with audiences about their careers, lives and ideas once every month. The upcoming session will feature Zhou Jing, a reporter-turned-entrepreneur based in Shanghai. She will speak about "possibilities for happiness".

    Hangzhou

    Contractual art

    A group of contemporary artists are presenting a site-specific art event-exhibition at a construction site near Hangzhou's West Lake. They invited real workers to activate their creativity, and bring independent ideas and visual vim to the works. Participants locally obtained materials. Everything that happens during the process will become part of the event. Shanghai's Shanghart Gallery helped organize the show.

    Guangzhou

    Heaven and earth

    Kan Tai-keung is considered the father of Hong Kong design and has been practicing his profession since 1967, with Bank of China and Wing Wah logos as some of his most recognizable creations. The celebrated designer and artist will showcase his work in his solo show Infinite Quest. In this exhibition, he explores the Chinese philosophical concept of Tao, the creator of heaven and earth, and the driving force behind life. The exhibition will show commercial and artistic projects, including posters, books and stamps.

    Hong Kong

    Building blocks

    The touring exhibition Piece of Peace - World Heritage Exhibition Built with Lego Bricks offers a blast from the past for many people who grew up playing with the namesake toy blocks. The show from Japan features miniature Lego versions of famous World Heritage sites, such as Angkor Wat, the Sydney's Opera House and Mont St. Michel. They'll be displayed throughout Cityplaza. There are also interactive activities in which visitors can make their own versions of spectacular sites and take home surprising gifts.

    Macao

    Dreams come true

    City guide

    Shrek, Fiona, Po the panda, Alex the lion and other Madagascar creatures will descend upon Macao this summer as DreamWorks Animations and Sands China team up to give the entire family interactive movie experiences. The DreamWorks Experience at Cotai Strip Resorts includes a meet-and-greet with favorite characters from DreamWorks movies at Sands Cotai Central's Paradise Gardens, daily all-star parades, and poolside movie nights at Sheraton Macao Hotel and Holiday Inn Macao Cotai Central on weekends. Those who stay at either hotel can have "Shrekfast" with the DreamWorks gang.
