    Vitas 2015 World Tour

    Date: Nov 14 - 8 pm

    Venue: Chongqing People's Grand Hall

    Price: 188-1,288 yuan

Vitas came to public attention in Russia in December 2000 with the song Opera #2, which was notable for his surprisingly high-pitched and energetic vocals. In the music video, Vitas portrays an eccentric lonely man with fish gills who lives in a bathtub with jars of fish and plays the accordion naked. Vitas' concert program Philosophy of Miracle premiered at the State Kremlin Palace on March 29, 2002, establishing a record for Vitas as the youngest artist ever to perform a solo concert at this prestigious venue. He also presented his fashion collection Autumn Dreams on the stage of the State Kremlin Palace on Sept 29, 2002. Vitas received an invitation from Lucio Dalla, the composer, who created Caruso, to perform this song together with the author at the concert San Remo in Moscow held in the State Kremlin Palace in 2003. Vitas' voice enchanted not only the audience but Mr. Dalla himself, so the composer invited Vitas to come to Rome to take part in the rehearsals of Toska, the modern version of the legendary opera. Vitas appeared in the 2011 Chinese film The Founding of a Party, playing the role of Grigori Voitinsky. He also starred with Huang Shengyi in the musical One Night To Be Star.

The play manages to stand up for the male viewpoint, while still being sympathetic to the female side of issues as well. Becker describes the play as a vehicle for showing that men have emotions, but they express them differently. Before the Broadway production Caveman was a stand-up comedy routine that Becker performed around America. Becker took over three years to write the comedy and performed the play until early 2006. In 1996, it became the longest running solo (one man) play in the history of Broadway. It still holds that record as of 2007.

    Black Sheep Party

    Date: Nov 7 - 11 pm

    Venue: Yugong Yishan

    Price: 50 yuan

The Black Sheep parties were once a noble tradition of techno and house music, but the untimely demise of 2 Kolegas meant a tragic end to the festivities, too. Fortunately, this city has other great electronic venues, and so it was decreed that this year, Black Sheep should be resuscitated and brought to Lantern-the only logical replacement venue for such a bash. Not sure what a Black Sheep party is? It's billed as "the deep sensation of being one of a kind and yet enjoying sharing the same feeling with similar people. It's about love for music." At Black Sheep, you can let your musical freak flag fly with little to no regard for what anyone else might say. You will be aided in this admirable pursuit by DJs Crystal Bones, Oshi, M.in. T, XLF, HamoudeH, Ou Yang, Kai, MJ, Weng Weng, and Youdai, who will be playing only the most inimitable tunes. If you go for no one else, go for Youdai, a man who has had an important role in the musical education of China. He was one of the first people to play rock on the radio here, and he has since then never ceased to push the boundaries of music in the Middle Kingdom. So, if you're feeling like a black sheep, alone in your eclectics and just looking for your own kind, see if you can't find what you seek at Lantern.
