Gansu takes emergency steps to safeguard dams, reservoirs

Amid extreme weather, the Liujiaxia Hydropower Station in Gansu province initiated emergency sediment flushing on Friday to safeguard dam and reservoir operations. Seven new rainfall gauges along the Tao River enabled precise forecasts of sediment arrival. Using real-time analytics, crews opened sediment?flushing gates to reduce siltation, protect equipment, and strengthen flood-control readiness.
