China supports Ukraine peace talks between all parties

China on Monday expressed support for dialogue between Russia and the United States, following the summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump in Alaska on Saturday.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said China welcomes all efforts conducive to peacefully resolving the Ukraine crisis.
"China is pleased to see Russia and the US maintaining contact, improving bilateral relations, and advancing the political settlement process of the Ukraine crisis," she said during a regular news briefing.
Mao also expressed hope that all parties and stakeholders involved would engage in peace negotiations at an appropriate time to reach a fair, lasting and binding agreement that is acceptable to all sides, as European leaders and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky prepared to meet with President Trump in Washington on Monday to discuss ending the crisis.
