F1H2O World Championship to thrill locals, tourists in Shanghai

The 2025 UIM F1H2O World Championship Grand Prix of Shanghai will be held at Baoshan district's riverside from Oct 2 to 4. This prestigious international water powerboat event will feature world-class racers, offering a thrilling "water F1" experience for locals and tourists. The district will also host various cultural and tourism activities to enhance the National Day holiday experience.

The event will attract 10 elite teams and over 20 top racers from more than 10 countries, including China, France, the UAE, Italy and Sweden. Broadcast in over 100 countries and regions, the event draws significant international attention every year.

This year's event has optimized its venue, moving to the inner waters of Long Beach in Baoshan, which offers ideal conditions for top-level powerboat racing. The organizing committee has enhanced the viewing experience, with better vantage points, water-shore interaction layouts and a new free viewing area. On-site attendance is expected to exceed 3,000 daily.

Tickets for the qualification and sprint races on Oct 3 and the main race on Oct 4 are now available, starting at 160 yuan ($22.3), with early-bird discounts. The event is part of Shanghai's sports voucher program, allowing citizens and tourists to receive additional discounts via Alipay.

To further enhance the holiday experience, the Shanghai International Cruise Tourism Resort will host several activities. From Oct 2 to 8, the first Yangtze River Cultural Food Festival will feature cuisines from 11 provinces, cultural heritage displays, pet interactions, and technology experiences. From Oct 5 to 7, the inaugural Yangtze Estuary Water Sports Carnival will showcase water ballet, flyboarding and wakeboarding. The Long Beach Art Festival, running from Oct 1 to 8, will transform the river embankment into an open-air gallery with themed murals and art events.

On Sept 30 and Oct 1, the Wusongkou Air Theater will present fireworks and drone shows. Additionally, Sea World will celebrate its anniversary with music, dance and magic shows.
