EU-China Partenariat biz talks held in Chengdu

    The enterprise business talks as the last activity of the Sixth EU-China Partenariat were held on October 20. 100 Chinese companies and 50 European companies held 600 talks in a few hours and about 90 percent of the talks ended up with an agreement for further talks. Some of Chinese and European companies invited counterparts to visit their companies.

    At 9 o'clock in the morning, many company representatives arrived at the site. Some even began to show company brochures before the arrival of their interpreters. Half an hour later, the first contract was signed. Chengdu Bangpu Alloy Material Co, Ltd. and Swiss IonBond signed an agreement on the introduction of NC blade surface treatment technology. It is reported that Swiss IonBond is a leader in this technical field at present. "We will spend about 15 million yuan introducing this technology." He Ze, general manager of Chengdu Bangpu Alloy Material Co, Ltd. told the reporter: "we have agents in Italy and other EU states. The introduction of world leading technology from EU this time is for more satisfactorily meeting the requirements of the clients in the EU market."

    In the next two hours, about 90 percent of the projects discussed on the site reached an agreement for further talks. Chengdu Gold Kirin Digital Technology Co, Ltd. and British Creative Sheffield signed a cooperation agreement in the digital animation and creative industry. According to the agreement, the British side will send its management team to Chengdu for further talks next month. The Chinese side plans to set up a branch company in Britain next year. Andrzej Juchniewicz, chief representative of Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency in China told a reporter he had talked to nine Chinese companies. Many companies in Chengdu expressed great interest in selling their products in the Polish market. He said he would also attend the EU-China Partenariat next year.

    Companies from the EU think highly of the IT and new energy industries of Chengdu

    At the meeting, Chengdu Dahang New Energy Technology Co, Ltd. and Slovenian Plan.net reached an agreement for cooperation in the purchase of photovoltaic modules and electric vehicle components; Beijing Century Forwarding International Co, Ltd. Chengdu Branch and Austrian Inet Logistics reached an agreement for cooperation in the development and application of a logistic system management software; Chengdu Good Doctor Pharmaceutical Group and famous Italian microturbine manufacturer Turbec reached an agreement for cooperation in heat supply and power supply equipment for hospitals.

    Many companies from the EU have clear aims. "In recent years, the economy and society of Chengdu have developed quickly and healthily. Its standards keeps rising and the city has formed a strong edge in mechanical manufacturing, electronic information, software and service outsourcing, bio-pharmacy, catering and food, food processing, metallurgical, building material and chemical industries and the development and utilization of hydropower, wind power, solar power and other clean energies." Marco Gasparroni, executive director of EU Project Innovation Center told the reporter that many companies from the EU value the development potential of these projects in Chengdu, so they expect material results at this EU-China Partenariat.

    It is learnt that 600 talks were held yesterday and many companies reached an agreement for further talks. However, since yesterday, the representatives of the companies from the EU have begun to leave Chengdu. What about the uncompleted talks? EEN covers 50 countries in the world and owns above 600 technology transfer and business cooperation organizations and one million SMEs. "Through this network platform, both Chinese and European parties may talk online in any time. We may say without exaggeration "EU-China Partenariat" will be held at EEN every day in the future." Macro also believe the establishment of EEN West China will effectively promote companies in western China to deepen their understandings and invigorate information exchange with the European market, continuously dig for potential cooperation between companies from western China and companies from European countries. "We used to bend ourselves to bringing in companies in EU into China, but through this platform, it is no longer a problem for Chinese companies to enter the EU market."
