    Entry and Exit Inspection

    1. Regulations on Exit-Entry Inspection Procedures for Tourists

Tourists entering China should submit their valid passports or other documents to the immigration inspection station; departing tourists should show their boarding passes. Tourists will be allowed to depart or enter after passing immigration inspection.

Foreign tourists need to fill in a foreigner’s exit-entry form. The inspection station will keep the arrival card and tourists will keep the departure card after they complete the procedures. Tourists holding a group visa to China do not need to fill in the exit-entry form.

2.Regulations on Exit-Entry of Guns and Ammunition for Tourists

Tourists who bring guns and ammunition into China should apply to specified bodies for authorization letters in advance, declare the items to the inspection station and undergo necessary procedures.

3.Regulations on Exit-Entry of Chinese Citizens

(1)Chinese mainland residents who go abroad should hold valid passports and entry visas, unless visiting countries that do not require visas. Those going to Hong Kong and Macao should hold an Exit-Entry Permit for Traveling to Hong Kong and Macao and the valid endorsement. Those who go to Taiwan should have the Taiwan Travel Permit for Mainland Residents and the valid endorsement. Those with “L”, or travel, passes should travel with a tourist group.

(2)Hong Kong and Macao residents should hold a valid Home Return Permit to undergo immigration inspection procedures.

(3)Taiwan residents should hold a valid Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents and the valid endorsement or residence permits to undergo immigration inspection procedures.

4.Regulations on Exit-Entry of Foreign Tourists

Exit-Entry for foreign tourists requires valid passports and Chinese visas (or permanent residence permits and residence permits) to undergo immigration inspection procedures.

Tourists who overstay in China and tourist groups that need to be split up for special reasons should go to the exit-entry department of the local public security bureau to undergo exit procedures.

Tourists who lose their passports in China should apply to their embassies or consulates in China for new ones. Tourists should then go to the exit-entry department of the local public security bureau to undergo entry procedures.
