More than 12,200 coal-fired boilers and factories in polluting industries will suspend production starting Aug 28 in a bid to get good air quality for Beijing's Sept 3 military parade by reducing polluting emissions.
為保北京9月3日"閱兵藍"，超過1.22萬家燃煤鍋爐廠等污染企業將從8月28日起實施停產減排。

為了此次紀念抗戰勝利70周年閱兵的空氣質量，除了讓污染企業停產減排，北京還實施了機動車單雙號尾號限行措施(restrict the use of vehicles whose license plates end with odd or even numbers on alternate days)，這些措施有望使北京市減排量達40%。

"閱兵藍"的說法源于去年11月初的"APEC藍"(APEC blue)，當時也是采取了一系列減排措施，包括周邊城市工廠停產(suspend production by factories in neighboring cities)、北京及周邊城市上路機動車減半(cut the number of motor vehicles on road by half in Beijing and neighboring cities)等。

Children who found fame in live shows and made a fortune by endorsing commercial products will have to halt their early career, as their ads will be banned after Sept 1 when the new advertising law goes into effect. Under the new law, those under the age of 10 cannot be used to promote products.
綜藝節目火爆，帶動越來越多的"萌娃"開始自己的"廣告明星路"。但9月1日新廣告法正式實施后，這些廣告都將不能再播放，因為利用不滿十周歲的未成年人作為廣告代言人將違法。

這幾年各種真人秀(reality show)的節目火爆各大熒屏，一些因為真人秀走紅的萌娃在出名后就開始接廣告賺錢(見圖)，不過新廣告法禁止不滿十周歲的孩子做廣告代言人(advertising spokesperson)。

十幾年前稱霸屏幕的綜藝節目(variety show)是文藝晚會(entertainment evening party)和訪談節目(chat show)，現在一打開電視，映入眼簾的是脫口秀(talk show)，智力競賽節目(quiz show)，婚姻速配節目(speed dating show)，還有各種真人秀。

The insured losses from a series of explosions at a chemical warehouse in Tianjin on Aug 12 are likely to range from $1b to $1.5b, Fitch Ratings said in a report on Tuesday. The high insurance penetration rate in this area could make the blasts one of the most costly catastrophe claims for the Chinese insurance sector in the past few years, the report said.
國際評級機構惠譽18日發布的報告顯示，天津化學品倉庫8月12日爆炸導致的承保損失金額可能在10億到15億美元之間。報告指出，較高的保險滲透率可能使天津港爆炸事故成為中國近幾年索賠金額最高的災難之一。

保險滲透率(insurance penetration rate)指某個特定年份內，保險公司承擔的保費(premium underwritten)在當年國內生產總值(GDP)中所占的比例，這其中支付的保費可能包括人壽保險(life insurance)、機動車保險(auto insurance)以及健康保險(health insurance)等。

天津港爆炸事故中，有超過8000輛汽車被損毀，因此，機動車保險理賠將是主要的一部分。天津港爆炸事故中傷亡的人員除了可以根據自己投保的保單獲得賠償以外，還會獲得政府統一安排的意外險賠償(government-supported accident insurance plan)。

為了應對低迷的市場環境，國內保險公司近兩年先后推出過中秋賞月險(insurance package/policy for full moon gazing)、霧霾險(smog insurance)等吸引公眾的眼球，希望通過這些新奇的保險方案吸引客戶。

Tipping the tour guide in China, which has long been considered a source of gray income in the tourism sector, is soon to be legitimate, according to a guide on ensuring tour guides' labor rights, jointly released by the National Tourism Administration and other two ministries and commissions. It's the first time that the country has given a nod to promoting a compensation system for tour guides.
一直屬于灰色收入的導游小費將合法化。日前，國家旅游局等三部委聯合發布《關于進一步加強導游勞動權益保障的指導意見》，首次從國家層面肯定并支持推廣導游薪酬制。

導游小費過去一直屬于灰色收入(gray income)，國家現在出規推廣導游薪酬制(compensation system for tour guides)，某種程度上有利于旅游市場(tourism market)的健康發展。然而，當前旅游市場怪象不斷，"惡導游"超低價拼團、強制消費、辱罵乘客，因此不少人對給導游小費提出了質疑。

為了整頓旅游市場的秩序，現在旅游法禁止零團費(free-of-charge tours)、負團費(negative-charge tours)和強迫購物(forced shopping)，前陣子還對不合理的低價旅游產品(budget travel product)進行了專項整治。

People held three-minute silence and sirens sounded Tuesday at a ceremony to mark the seventh day since the blasts rocked a warehouse storing hazardous chemicals in Tianjin Binhai New Area.
18日，在天津濱海新區危險化學品倉庫爆炸事故的頭七儀式上，現場人員舉行了3分鐘的默哀和鳴笛等悼念活動。

這次爆炸事故已經造成上百人遇難，經查明，事發倉庫存儲了約3000噸高危化學品(highly hazardous chemicals)。8月18日，也就是事故發生的"頭七"那天，許多民眾自發前往濱海開發區參加天津"8·12"事故遇難者悼念儀式(memorial service)。

"頭七"是一種中華民族的喪殯習俗。習慣上認為"頭七"指的是人去世后的第七日。一般都認為，死者魂魄(spirit)會于"頭七"返家，家人應該于魂魄回來前，給死者魂魄預備一頓飯，之后必須回避，以免影響他投胎再世為人(be reincarnated in a new body)。
