據(jù)藤田茂1954年8月筆供，他1889年生于日本廣島縣。1938年8月到中國(guó)山西參加侵華戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)，任陸軍騎兵第28聯(lián)隊(duì)大佐聯(lián)隊(duì)長(zhǎng)。1945年3月任第43軍第59師團(tuán)中將師團(tuán)長(zhǎng)。1945年8月在朝鮮咸興被俘。

1938年8月，在山西河津逮捕住民6名，“訊問(wèn)這些被逮捕的人民時(shí)使用拷問(wèn)、毆打等方法手段且殺害了”。

1938年11月，在山西運(yùn)城東北40公里的三路李村，“搜索屠殺了多數(shù)三路李村住民”。

1939年1月中旬，在山西安邑縣張良村，“對(duì)軍官全體教育說(shuō)"為使兵習(xí)慣于戰(zhàn)場(chǎng)，殺人是快的方法，就是試膽。對(duì)此使用俘虜比較好"。"刺殺比槍殺有效果"。4月，在夏縣，“我命令第1中隊(duì)長(zhǎng)……讓部下的9名兵刺殺了俘虜”9名。8月15日，在山西澤州，“我讓把8名俘虜交給第1中隊(duì)，把9名交給第2中隊(duì)作為教育材料刺殺了”。

1944年3月—1945年4月，任騎兵第4旅團(tuán)長(zhǎng)期間，“瓦斯彈：使用74發(fā)（綠彈）”。

1944年4月10日，“我在歸德旅團(tuán)司令部，召集各隊(duì)長(zhǎng)，命令”“使用瓦斯彈的權(quán)限給予聯(lián)隊(duì)長(zhǎng)，在此作戰(zhàn)期間，騎炮1門(mén)攜帶20發(fā)瓦斯彈，聯(lián)隊(duì)炮1門(mén)攜帶10發(fā)瓦斯彈”，“俘虜盡量在戰(zhàn)場(chǎng)殺害，算入"戰(zhàn)果"。

1944年5月2日，在河南許昌西南10公里的黃旗衛(wèi)村，“刺殺俘虜4名”。

1944年5月21日，在河南洛陽(yáng)，“擊斃中國(guó)人民12名（1名是婦女）”。

1944年10月26日，在河南太康附近，“拷問(wèn)殺害中國(guó)人民6名”。12月16日，在黃河北左岸歸德北方地區(qū)，“拷問(wèn)殺害中國(guó)人民11名”。

1945年3月27日，“在竹林橋北200米的鄧縣—老河口道上的約50戶(hù)村莊，把合住民，連老人、婦女、小孩，……屠殺了這些住民”。同日，“在馬屈山攻擊使用了瓦斯彈”。

1945年5月9日，在山東沂水西北25公里的石橋“殺害很多中國(guó)人民”，“放火，全部燒毀石橋村”。同月“作戰(zhàn)期間，使令防疫給水班使用霍亂菌，實(shí)施了細(xì)菌戰(zhàn)”。攻擊在豪山的八路軍時(shí)，“使用了瓦斯彈、瓦斯筒”。“為了預(yù)防遭受八路軍所埋設(shè)的地雷之害，則稱(chēng)謂領(lǐng)路，使十幾名人民先行的事實(shí)是使令實(shí)地趟地雷了”。

According to the written confession of Fujita Shigeru in August 1954, he was born in 1889 in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan and went to Shanxi, China in August 1938 to join the Japanese War of Aggression against China, serving as colonel and commander of the 28th Cavalry Regiment. He took the position of lieutenant general and commander of the 59th Division of the 43rd Army in March 1945. He was captured in Hamhung, the Korean Peninsula in August 1945.

August 1938: arrested 6 local inhabitants in Hejin, Shanxi, "interrogated these arrested people through torture and beating, and killed them";

November 1938: "searched for and killed most of the inhabitants of Sanluli Village" in Sanluli Village, 40 kilometers to the northeast of Yuncheng, Shanxi;

Mid-January 1939: in Zhangliang Village, Anyi County, Shanxi, "told all officers, 'Killing people is a quick way to get soldiers accustomed to the battlefield, as it can test their courage. For this purpose, it is better to use the captives.' 'Bayoneting is more effective than shooting.'"
